Hello! My name is Robert Luscumb and I am the owner and founder of Desert Sky Photography of Tucson. I began this business to provide the people of Tucson stunning videos and breath taking photos. I know there are many photographers here doing amazing work, but I bring something unique to the table: aerial photography.

I have lived here in Tucson, AZ for the past 20 years. I’ve lived and worked all over Tucson on all points of the compass. I remember moving here from Indiana and being mesmerized by the desert landscape. To see iconic Saguaro Cactus in the front yards of people’s homes was amazing! My first Arizona sunset caused me to fall in love with this city right away.

I got the idea to start this company when a friend of mine needed videos made of the swimming pools he builds. He was asking me if I knew anyone who could make an aerial video without having to rent a helicopter. We talked more about it over the next few weeks and suddenly, we thought of a UAV equipped with a video camera would be perfect! Not only that, but I could do this as a business.

In the past, photographers were limited to ground level shots, the same shots everyone is doing. Or, if they wanted a different perspective, they needed to climb up on something or rent expensive equipment. With Desert Sky Photography I use a DJI Inspire 1 aerial drone equipped with a 4k HD video camera that captures ultra high definition images and video. I can use this to obtain amazing perspectives that were out of reach just a year ago.
