I have flown over 150 commercial flights in both the public and private industries across the entirety of the northern midwest, including the use of 5 different drones for multiple applications. I have a bachelor's degree in geosciences with a minor in computer science, and I have worked as an environmental consultant and a GIS scientist. My responsibilities as a drone pilot for a previous employer included responding to and getting photos and footage of hazardous material emergencies, which presented some high pressure situations including fire, dangerous chemicals, and flights around emergency responders. Additionally, the one equipment emergency I have experienced was a landing gear malfunction, and I was able to safely and effectively land the drone with landing gear on only one side causing no damage to the drone or surrounding property due to some thinking on the fly (pun intended). Deliverables have generally been orthomosaic maps (with more advanced tech than I currently have access to) as well as single-shot photos and video.
