Nina Jean-Louis serves as the Founder and CEO for Urban Aspect, LLC. Nina earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering with honors at the University of Central Florida, Burnett Honors College and received her M.S. in Historic Preservation from Pratt Institute. Prior to her opening her own firm, Nina has worked for seven years in both the building envelope and structural design industries, conducting existing condition assessments and water leakage investigations as well as conducting critical load analyses in rehabilitation projects. She also worked as a Structural Analyst and Systems Engineer for the aerospace industry early on her career on a variety of defense aircraft repair programs. Recently, Nina has been involved in rehabilitation projects including the Woolworth Building, New York Life Building, Martin Luther King Library and several projects throughout Capitol Hill.

Nina made the transition to historic preservation and documentation technology (using sUAS technology) to not only pursue her passion for rehabilitating and documenting historic structures but to also aid communities in saving significant places that define their cultural and historic identity. It is this purpose that has led her to investigate various documentation technologies and flood resilience interventions for historic coastal communities. She is a licensed FAA Part 107 drone pilot and continues to seek ways to apply drone technology within the built environment

Noteworthy Achievements: Nina is an active member in the Preservation Engineering Technical Committee (PETC) of the Association of Preservation Technology (APT). She recently created and co-founded the Disaster Response Initiative (DRI) and has recently completed a drone documentation project in Little Haiti to aid in structural assessments to preserve the community's cultural and built fabric. Nina was also recently invited to participate in a panel discussion aiding undergraduate engineering students in understanding how ethics is applied in the engineering field at Principia College. Outside of her work, Nina continues to mentor young aspiring engineers with leading resume and interviewing seminars as well as coaching initiatives with local universities.
