Incorporated in January 2000, LDSI has been providing surveying and mapping services to a variety of clients. Our clients include engineers, land developers, construction companies, and government agencies. We are a SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran’s Owned Small Business) and we are licensed to practice surveying in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee as well as engineering in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida.

LDSI has provided ALTA/NSPS Surveys for large and small projects, ranging from less than 1 acre to more than 2,000 acres; provided GIS Data Base & Data Collection for inventory projects at military installations and small towns and provided Level A, B, C & D SUE services to municipalities and industry. Our experienced personnel has provided Construction Stakeout and Construction Inspection on projects as small as a single family houses to projects as large as the $1B North Carolina Research Campus. We have completed field run Topographic Surveys for sites over 800 acres and ground control for a combination of LiDAR and aerial topographic surveys of more than 6,000 acres. LDSI has provided on-call SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) services to the City of Charlotte and SUE clearing for borehole/well drilling operations. Our GIS (Geographic Information Systems) group provides base maps, GIS analysis and inventory mapping for A-E firms, Planning firms, municipalities, and developers.

LDSI provides an entire suite of survey and mapping services in support of water resource restoration projects (Steam Restoration & Wetland Restoration), including existing condition surveys, as-built surveys, aerial topographic surveys, construction layout, both conventional and machine control, as well as all the needed FEMA surveys (Elevation Certificates, floodplain stakeout, Letters of Map Amendments (LOMA), and FEMA cross-sections). LDSI’s engineering team specializes in hydraulic/hydrologic modeling applications for all aspects of ecological restoration projects including assessment, planning, design, permitting, and construction oversight. LDSI’s Water Resources Group completes detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for decision making and to document predicted effects of restoration practices including flooding, sediment transport, and hydraulic conditions. The group has experience with approximately 25,000 acres of wetlands and 130,000 linear feet of streams restored. The group works with landowners and stakeholders to ensure that the project goals and objectives are achieved for all parties.

LDSI utilizes sUAS (drones) for several clients including developers, construction companies, mining operations, utility companies, environmental remediation companies, farmers, non-profits, and universities. We pride ourselves on being surveyors and engineers first and utilizing drones as a tool to meet the needs of our clients. A few of the deliverables that we have provided our clients include: oblique images, orthographic images (with ground control), topographic surfaces, volumes, quantity estimates, and raw video. We have a sUAS fleet that includes 6 aircraft and 5 licensed 107 pilots.

With a reach that includes most of the Southeast, our goal is to be the solution to your surveying and engineering needs. Please contact us so that we can assist you with a solution to your Surveying, Engineering, GIS, SUE, sUAS (drone), data and mapping needs.
