Hello, my name is Garred Wiggs. My interest in the UAV field, started with aerial photography. Through further studying and practice, I found that the UAV industry can offer so much more, than standard photography and cinematography. My projects include applications of virtual reality, 3D modeling, CAD and Civil design, and detailed point cloud information. I recently did a 3D point cloud scan of powerlines, and incorporated CAD for powerline sag estimation. This helps with the inspection of transmission lines, by determining the sag of the line, helps to better understand it's overall condition. My post on LinkedIn, in a power/utility forum, managed an estimated 9,000 views. UAV's are critical in inspection, power industry, and overall safety in infrastructural needs. Although, I continue to study and run applications on my own, I deal mostly with commercial and residential real estate photography/videography.
