Bob Felderman is a distinguished editorial photojournalist and commercial photographer known for his exceptional storytelling through imagery. Born in 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa, Bob’s journey spans continents, shaping his unique perspective on life and photography. After a 36-year career in the U.S. Army, where he retired as a Brigadier General, Bob served with honor in aviation, strategic planning, and disaster response operations.
Parallel to his military career, Bob worked as a real estate broker and appraiser for over four decades. However, his passion for photography truly defined his later years. Upon his return in late 2010 to Dubuque, after traveling around the world while on an active duty tour with NORAD and US Northern Commands, he was asked to photograph entertainment events for a regional magazine. Starting with only a pocket camera, Bob’s talent quickly caught the eye of magazine editors, propelling him into professional photography with numerous assignments (two Presidential visits, top entertainers in the casino circuits, national leaders, and many more people.)
Bob earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography (Summa Cum Laude) from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in December of 2021, a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management & Flight Operations from the University of Dubuque in May of 1988, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy in June of 2001.
