After several years of recreational flying, which allowed me to appreciate the world from a unique perspective and share my outdoor experiences with friends and family, I decided to delve deeper into aerial imagery. I obtained my Part 107 certification after learning that creating my own marketing materials without it would violate FAA regulations. This marked the beginning of my serious engagement with drones and airspace management.
With a strong background in construction and having completed my OSHA 30 training to ensure safety on job sites, I found that my favorite application of drone technology is within the construction industry. Conducting progress missions and witnessing the transformation of a project from above is nearly as gratifying as the actual construction work, but without the physical strain.
Interestingly, some of the highest-paying assignments I've undertaken have been for law firms seeking evidence of wildfire damage from the 2023 wildfires in Washington. In less than eleven hours, I flew over 560 privately owned acres, capturing video evidence that assisted the law firm in pursuing claims against insurance companies. Their successful victory for the clients was not only financially rewarding for me but also fulfilling to know that I played a role in helping families recover from significant losses.
Additionally, I have found considerable success in the real estate sector, where I enjoy collaborating with agents to provide the necessary marketing content for their brands, agencies and ultimately, their clients life changing decisions.
Looking ahead to early 2025, I am confident that I will have honed my skills in conducting roof inspections, aerial mapping, stock pile counting and truly becoming one of North Idahos leading drone providers.
