As a U.S. Army veteran, I've studied and employed remote sensing technology for more than 25 years, but I'm most excited about the personal and artistic applications of consumer drones that have emerged in the past few years. As a photographer, the idea that you can visit a place that has been captured from thousands of ground angles and be able to create an image or video that is completely new and unique is exhilarating.
