Matthew Lavin has over 20+ years production and onset experience in San Francisco, New York and LA. He’s transitioned over the last decade into cinematronics to fulfill his passion: combining narrative and technology. Matthew did prolific work for Disney, Jim Henson Productions & Blue Man Group as a master puppeteer, robotic remote operator, lighting tech and R&D engineer. Now an Aerial DP, Drone Pilot, Camera Operator and Aerial Coordinator, Matthew was inducted into ICG, Local 600 for his pioneering efforts in Aerial Cinema Technology, “On Set Production Protocols” and Aerial Cinema Lighting R&D. He was Chancellor of The Monterey Bay UAV Flight School for Cinematography and is currently an Aerial Cinematography Instructor at Unmanned Vehicle University. Matthew’s credits include numerous commercials, feature films, major sport/event coverage and executing the first live aerial broadcast for Major League Baseball. His company, Aerography, out of the Bay Area, holds both the 3/3/3 FAA Exemption & Part 107 UAS License and is paving the way for safe, compelling, creative aerial cinematography.
