FAQ

How much does a drone pilot charge?

Pilots usually charge around $100-$150 per man hour. The amount per hour, and number of hours depends on several factors including:

  • How many hours the pilot will need to be on site.
  • How much footage you need (3 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, etc.)
  • The amount of editing (if any) you need.
  • The type of service you need (wedding, real estate, etc.) and any special circumstances around that.
  • Possible travel expenses if the pilot is not local.

How much does it cost to use Droners.io?

Our service is free to use if you are looking to hire a pilot. If you are a drone pilot, we charge a 10% commission fee on every job that is awarded to you. The fee is automatically subtracted from payments made to you.

How do I pay my pilot?

Payment is made through our platform. Once the pilot you hire has completed your job, they will mark it complete and an invoice is sent to you. You'll have two days to review the work before payment is automatically made using the debit/credit card on file.

Is my payment information secure?

Securiy is one of our biggest considerations: all communications with our servers are secured under HTTPS protocol and certified by a high-level SSL certificate. We do not store any payment information on our servers and all processed payments are stored by our payment provider (Stripe.com).

Are your pilots legal and licensed?

We manually review every pilot before approving their profile to ensure they have obtained the current license(s) required to legally operate a drone for commercial purposes.

As a pilot, how long does it take to get paid?

Once the job is completed, the client will have two days to review the footage before payment is made. The money (minus our 10% commission fee) will arrive in your bank account 2 business days later.
