Shannon Cardin is a UAS Operator on the BNSF UAS Team. Shannon got his start in the UAS industry in 2011 which included flying missions overseas and working on several R&D projects. He has experience with flying UAS for power-line inspection and has flown disaster relief missions to aid the Bahamas during Hurricane Dorian. Shannon has a B.S. in Professional Aviation from Louisiana Tech University and before starting his career in the UAS industry, he flew as a First Officer for American Eagle. In 2018, he started flying for BNSF and has been involved with BVLOS flights for track inspections and is currently assisting with implementing “Drone-in-a-Box” technology for the railroad.
