General Bob Felderman is a University of Dubuque alumnus (88, bachelors in aviation management), a former UD adjunct aviation professor, and a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General. Felderman is an award-winning professional photographer, a real estate broker & appraiser, a long-time Dubuque philanthropist (along with his wife Nancy, they are involved in many non-profits), and an independent writer published in local, state, national and international magazines, books, and the wide world web.
Felderman holds a masters degree in National Security Strategy from the Defense University, and is Certified in Legislative Affairs from Georgetown University, both in Washington, DC. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his writing and photography. Felderman recently earned the title of Certified Drone Photographer from the Professional Photographers of America.
He holds an FAA commercial helicopter pilot certificate (with instrument rating) and private SEL airplane pilot certificate, in addition to his FAA unmanned aircraft pilot certificate. He has over 2,220 flight hours in helicopters and airplanes, and he has hundreds of commercial drone flights since 2016.
Felderman is a professional speaker on subjects ranging from unmanned aerial systems (drones), pandemic influenza, domestic catastrophic responses, nuclear weapon accidents, terrorism, strategic planning, aviation, real estate, and photography. Felderman has traveled to many parts of the world, but chooses lives in the Midwest United States, while regularly traveling to visit his grandchildren in Florida and Colorado.
